comic from Glömp by Tommi Musturi

Tommi Musturi is a comic artist and member of the Kutikuti collective. He is the driving force behind the Finnish 'Glömp' anthologies, that were published between 1997 and 2009. His work was also published in foreign publications, such as Chili Con Carne in Portugal and Parcifal in Belgium. His 'Book of Hope' series is about the quiet life and everyday experiences of an ageing man, and are published in Finland as 'Toivon Kirja' since 2007. The series is also published in Belgium by Bries.

Musturi uses little words in his comics, as is evident in his 2009 graphic novel 'Samuelin Matkassa' ('On Samuel's Journey'), that delves in themes like independence, freedom and the individual as a part of his environment. He received an MA at the University of Arts and Design in Helsinki. Musturi is one of the artistic directors of the Helsinki Comics Festival, and is also involved in music, graphic design, illustration, fine art and performance art.
